  • Initial D First Stage

Everyone said that already, but the graphics don’t matter.

  • Zombie Land Saga

Obnoxious yelling of Mamoru Miyano is obnoxious, but the rest of the show more than makes up for it.

    • IT'S HOUOUIN KYOUMA

  • Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken

I loved the introduction. After that came the usual isekai harem taking-over-the-world, and that’s okay.

  • Sword Art Online: Alicization

I don’t have high expectations for the story — either way, I already know the story. But the visuals are quality as expected from a Sword Art Online series.

In the first episode the animation was slightly disappointing (TROYCA pls), and the story was so nice I didn’t feel the urge to watch it any further just yet.

I'm currently avoiding watching it, because I’m interning at a corporation at the time, and it hits too close to home.

It’s a good show and I’m going to take it slow.

The first episode overstayed its welcome. My roommate watched a few more and got annoyed with how unrelated the visitors counter was to the actual content of the episodes. I’m gonna give it another try later.

It felt a lot like a moe show, but to an acceptable degree, and with a pretty satisfying finish.

It’s a very good supernatural comedy. It seems people like to compare its style of gags to Nichijou and it’s not an unfounded claim.

I have it on BD/DVD and although way overhyped by my friends, it’s good.

This anime resonates with me a lot politically – specifically the split between the Sealing Faction and the Pacifist Faction and the difference between their methods.

This is the NGE we actually deserved.

  • Mob Psycho 100

After finishing the anime I dashed through the rest of the manga and it’s a very satisfying story that I agree with sociopolitically. As for the anime alone, the opening song was played countless times at my place, because it’s so good.

I liked it a lot, until I saw the drama show, and now I like both of them for different things.

  • Violet Evergarden

It made me wonder why we don’t have MMORPGs placed in post-WW1 Europe, and I guess the answer (one of them, at least) is that the period is overall boring and only I would play it. The show outplays the issue by making the main character tremendously overpowered in a balanced way.

  • Re:Zero

At the end I was just tired of constant suffering and satisfied with the seemingly abrupt ending. I’ve read what supposedly happens next in the source material and I’m happy where I am.

I am forever scarred and unable to touch any other Ghibli movie.

    watched 1/1 [Kitsu] [MyAnimeList]
  • Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun

It’s like Comic Girls, but a few years earlier, with many less girls, proportionately more guys, as many awkward comedy situations. The ending hits you right in the kokoro.

  • Hyouka

It was so damn slow, but in the retrospect it feels like it was worth it, although all I can remember now is Chitanda.

It’s good and slow, and good because it’s slow.

watched 12/12 rated 10/10 [Kitsu] [MyAnimeList]
  • Quan Zhi Gao Shou

The animation is great. The protagonist is overpowered and buffs others to be overpowered, but it’s kinda fun to watch him. The story almost doesn’t progress until the very end, where it abruptly jumps forward. Well, maybe we’ll get a second season out of this.

  • Darling in the FranXX

I forgave its many sins, but couldn’t forgive the last final mecha design.

watched 24/24 rated 17/20 [Kitsu] [MyAnimeList]
  • How Not to Summon a Demon Lord

My conspiracy theory is that the show’s commentary is how the main character is an incel who becomes a volcel fighting to prevent other incels from destroying the world. But yeah, the show’s fan-service all the way.

It felt really comfy from the first moment I looked at the manga. At which point I went to watch the anime quickly. The animation is weak, especially the faces, but it won’t be stopping me.

It ended up disappointing me with its weak ending.

My all-time favourite series at the moment. It’s not the first time I was impressed by Studio TROYCA, but compared to Aldnoah.Zero, this show has notably fewer flaws. I love everything about it, from character design to music to even logo design and its animation in the first opening.
